Prevention is the key
Puppies and kittens receive a series of vaccines throughout the first few months of their lives to establish their initial immunity. And adult pets need regular boosters to ensure lasting protection against common contagious diseases. At Lakeside Animal Hospital, we administer safe and highly effective vaccinations for dogs and cats in Plantation and the surrounding areas, and we’d be thrilled to help you protect your precious pet.
Puppy and Kitten Vaccinations
If you have recently adopted a new furry family member, we’d love to meet them! Our veterinarians recommend bringing your new puppy or kitten in for a wellness exam and their first vaccines when they are eight weeks old. Then, we’ll repeat the exam and vaccines every few weeks until your furry friend is at least four months old. This process builds a foundation for good health while enabling you and your pet to establish a relationship with the Lakeside family.

Adult Dog and Cat Vaccinations
Once your pet has completed their initial vaccine series, they’ll need physical exams and boosters throughout their life to ensure long-term health and protection. Our veterinarians will review your pet’s medical history and lifestyle to determine which vaccines they need. For senior pets and pets with complex medical issues, we may perform blood tests called “titers” to determine whether vaccines are necessary for their situation. Our goal is to provide the protection your beloved companion needs without over-vaccinating them.
