Wellness exams are a vital component of routine healthcare. We recommend annual and semi-annual checkups for all pets. During a wellness visit, one of our veterinary technicians will usually ask you about your pet’s medical history, current condition, and the reason for your visit. This is an important part of the exam, and we encourage you to provide as much relevant, accurate information as possible. Feel free to bring up any concerns you may have, too.
Next, the veterinarian will perform a nose-to-tail physical exam. Based on their findings, they may recommend diagnostic testing to monitor baseline values or check for certain conditions. All findings will be noted in your pet’s medical chart, so we can maintain a complete history and follow up on areas of concern appropriately.
Your pet’s wellness checkup is a great opportunity to ask questions. Our veterinarians want to ensure you understand their findings, recommendations, and how to best care for your pet. Clear communication is one of our top priorities, so never be afraid to ask questions!
