World Rabies Day

World Rabies Day is an annual event on September 28th to promote action and awareness for rabies prevention. Rabies Alliance has been raising awareness since 2007.

Protect your family and your pets by having your pets vaccinated against this deadly disease. Prevention starts with awareness. Rabies remains a major concern worldwide, killing tens of thousands of people and animals every year. It is a preventable viral disease most often transmitted through the bite of a rabid animal.

World Rabies Day

Rabies is a zoonotic disease ( a disease that is transmitted from animals to humans) that attacks the central nervous system of the infected mammal. The virus is 100% preventable by raising awareness and vaccination of pets and wildlife. Vaccinate your animals and keep them away from wildlife that can spread the disease. According to Dr. Charles Rupprecht, former chief of the rabies program at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, “Your local veterinarian plays a key role in controlling rabies.”
